Entry #2: Black Friday & YouTube Lunch.

Lunch, Not Launch. I like these dyslexic word games, I think it’s a way for me to be at peace with the strange and absurd errors the condition carries. Sometimes it’s frustrating, sometimes hilarious, but I will never not be at least a little bit embarrassed when I miss an error in the copy. This is what editors are for! (Thanks all you great editors who have had patience with me over the years.)

November is nearly over, it’s both flown by in an instant and passed so achingly slow in the same breath that I’m still trying to catch mine. This coming Friday - I’ll be running a Black Friday//Cyber Monday sale through the weekend - 20% off Site wide. More details coming! For those of you who’ve already ordered something from the store in the past week, expect some extra, secret goodies in your delivery. Thank you so much for the support!

SPEAKING OF SUPPORT - TODAY @2PM PST - FIRST EVER ERYK DONOVAN YOUTUBE LIVESTREAM.

Thats right, I have a youtube channel set up now, and I’ll be streaming on it ever so often. I have zero idea what I’m doing, no particular plans for where the channel is going to go, and I’ll be frank; it’s an honest struggle with the how much of myself and my art and my life I want to share with the internet//the world. I can be a reclusive snob (sorry) and I find drawing in front of an audience stressful. That all said, over the past few years shuttered indoors during COVID-19, I’ve come to love watching the library of livestreams from Kim Jung Gi and Katsuya Terada in particular, and the inspiration and solace they’ve given me has been significant enough that I think I can handle having a few fun drawing streams saved somewhere for posterity, Whatever that is it comes to look like in this rapidly changing, expanding world. I’ve enjoyed doing some drawing streams over the past few years with some great comic art folks, and when I’ve decided to pop open the instagram account for an impromptu Live, I’ve always been pleasantly surprised with the reception and experience.

Today the focus is signing some( around 300) bookplates for the backers of James Tynion IV and I’s MEMETIC: Apocalyptic Trilogy 10th Anniversary Edition - Funded on Kickstarter earlier this year. I expect I’ll fit a few remarque style drawings onto a few plates as well, but no promises for who/how anyone in particular is getting those. If you’ve got some time to pop in and say hello, that would be great - and as always > Like, Share, and Subscribe!

lol.

Thanks for the kind words and support this week! More updates coming soon - Including some new additions to the Webstore, Black Friday 20% off Sitewide Sale, Livestream Signing, Paintings for an upcoming show at Brassworks Gallery, and some recently finished commission work.

Much Love!
